Did you know that human vision can grasp only one ten-trillionth of the light spectrum, meaning most of the electromagnetic radiation surrounding us is invisible to our perception? Yet the small portion of the world that we can grasp we are eager to analyze. We live in the world of fictional stories and data collection, the scientific method and visual trends. And this pursuit of truth, inspiration and meaning when most of the world is invisible to us is what fascinates me in human experience and visual creativity.

I use visual tools like illustrations, animation, and figurative art to translate complex data and research into stories with a unique tone of voice. Data is the building block of scientific research, culture, and the tool to understand beautifully subjective human experience. Data visualization makes these complex ideas approachable.

I work at the intersection of data visualization, art, animation, visual design and storytelling to investigate how facts overlap with the subjective curlicue of personal experience. Combined with extensive leadership experience, this gives me the right tools to organize processes, lead teams, and quite simply make exhibitions and initiatives happen.

Past clients include the Barabasi Lab, United Nations Women, and Alina Sokulska, PhD. My scientific illustrations and visualizations have been published in Science and the Journal of Neuroscience. One of my favorite projects is Knoty, a concept I created with my partner to examine less addictive digital reward systems, which was an IDEO Design For Digital Thriving finalist.
