I create visual stories. I like to think discerning stories can make the world a kinder place.
I work at the intersection of art, animation, visual design, data viz, and storytelling. I also like organizing processes, leading teams, and making exhibitions and initiatives happen.
Through animation, digital painting, data art, and creative community engagement practices, I investigate how the reality of facts overlaps the subjective yet very real curlicue of a personal experience.
After a short internship in advertising and realizing this was not my calling, I started my career as an editorial designer and illustrator, later switching to brand and marketing design. Then, I decided to pursue a Master’s Degree and, along the way, accidentally became a data visualization and animation artist. When I realized it happened, it was already too late.
I currently work at the Center For Complex Networks Research, Barabasi Lab. I have worked with United Nations Women, Borzo, Beat Films Festival, and Alina Sokulska PhD, among others. I have published my weird comics on Vice and showcased even weirder cartoons at the Lift-Off Festival and Northeastern Student Festival.
Some of my favorite projects are the ones done with friends and family—such as the project my partner and I did about less addictive digital rewarding systems (IDEO Design For Digital Thriving finalist) and some sketching series and illustration challenges we have with my friends, such as this small game and some of those illustrations.
COLLABORATION
I like to work on projects that reveal something important about our world and those that aim to make our communities kinder, safer, more informed, and more rooted.
I’d collaborate on the following:
  • Art and art + science projects
  • Illustration, design and data visualization
  • Creative leadership & project management
  • Exhibits/creative community events/talks and panels speaking

Personal Project: Drawing Yard
I have developed a drawing course, which helps to find joy in everyday life as a source of resilience.
It is for everyone, no matter how good the drawing skills are. When I realized that I had been traumatized by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, I decided to use my lifelong skill of drawing and created a set of creative practices that aim to build resilience and connection with emotions and self.
If you are an art therapist, psychologist, cognitive / neuroscientist, or a business person and this sounds like an exciting project, feel free to drop me a line.
